- Day 1: Arrive Christchurch
On arrival in Christchurch, The Garden City you will be welcomed and transferred to the hotel. Rest of the day is at leisure. - Day 2: Christchurch - Greymouth - Glacier Region
After breakfast, depart Christchurch on the TranzAlpine train and travel beside the Waimakariri River, over the Southern Alps and onto the alpine village of Arthurs Pass before arriving in Greymouth. Travel south along the rugged West Coast to arrive at the glacier region of Franz Josef and Fox Glaciers. - Day 3: Glacier Region Queenstown
Breakfast at the hotel and travel down the West Coast past spectacular mountain ranges, native forests and lakes to the Haast Pass, gateway to World Heritage Westland National Park. Follow the shores of Lakes Hawea and Wanaka to the resort city of Queenstown. Surrounded by majestic mountains and nestled on the shores of crystal clear Lake Wakatipu,Queenstown is New Zealands premier four season lake and alpine resort. - Day 4: Milford Sound
An early breakfast, follow the southern arm of Lake Wakatipu to Lumsden, and onward to Lake Te Anau. Enter the Eglinton Valley and travel through the breath taking man-made Homer Tunnel to reach Milford Sound. Enjoy a cruise on this world famous fiord, dominated by Mitre Peak and the cascading Bowen Falls. Return to Queenstown. Milford Sound is one of the wettest places in New Zealand however the rain creates stunning treats for visitors with dozens of temporary waterfalls created both at Milford Sound and along the Milford Road. Visitors are drawn by the spectacular sights of waterfalls cascading from sheer rock faces rising 1,200 metres or more from the sea, lush rain forests clinging precariously to the cliffs, and the seals, penguins and dolphins that frequent the waters. - Day 5: Queenstown
After breakfast, you have an opportunity today to explore the endless optional attractions available. Queenstown offers bungy jumping, jet boating, white water rafting, gondola rides and much more. Optional activities not included in tour price. Overnight is at the hotel.
- Day 6: Queenstown Rotorua
After breakfast, transfer to Queenstown Airport today for your flight to Rotorua. Flight from Queenstown to Rotorua NOT included. After breakfast, visit Whakarewarewa Thermal Reserve to see boiling mudpools and roaring geysers. Following this see bird life, trout and other wildlife before viewing a New Zealand farm show featuring sheep dog demonstrations, cow milking and an introduction to the stars of our sheep industry. - Day 8: Rotorua - Waitomo-Auckland
Breakfast at the hotel and travel over the forested Mamaku Ranges to reach Waitomo. Enjoy a guided tour of the world famous Waitomo Glowworm Caves including an underground boat ride viewing the millions of glowworms on the cavern roof. On completion, continue through the fertile Waikato area to reach Auckland The City of Sails. Aucklands waterside location has fostered the locals love affair with the sea, earning this place the nickname City of Sails. Auckland sprawls over a narrow isthmus between the sparkling waters of the Waitemata and Manukau Harbours. A cloak of rainforest covers the surrounding hills, dozens of dormant volcanic cones dot the landscape and enchanting holiday islands are scattered throughout the vast Hauraki Gulf.
